Please note that the current Catholic School Council at St. Giovanni Battista Scalabrini will be dissolved at our first Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the Library. Also, at this time, elections for parent members will take place for SGBS Catholic School Council Executive positions: i.e. Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, etc…It is important for all CSC meetings that we reach quorum, which is the majority of the members present, consisting of parents. The term of office for Executive parent members will not exceed 1 year. For a description of what each CSC Executive position entails, please review the attached common YCDSB Catholic School Council Constitution which is in effect immediately, as per YCDSB Policy 606. I have also attached the Code of Ethics for your reference. Please see Code of Ethics  5.5 on page 41.

Directly, after the elections for the Catholic School Council are held, the council will begin its first inaugural meeting with an agenda to be shared with all members prior to the date of the first meeting.

I look forward to working with our new Catholic School Council in order to set clear directions and strengthen the St. Giovanni  community by always putting student achievement and well-being first!

All parents of students at St. Giovanni Battista Scalabrini CES are always welcome to attend our meetings.

Sincerely,
