St. Giovanni Battista Scalabrini CES enthusiastically welcomed Evan Pandeirada (Manager of Community Engagement) and players, Riley, a fullback, and Sean, a striker, for York United FC, who play soccer professionally at the top tier in the Canadian Premier League.
Staff and students attentively listened to the personal stories of Evan, Riley and Sean, as they learned more about the challenges, sacrifices, and determination that are required to reach the highest levels of Canadian soccer. The presentation was a chance to showcase a real pathway for those current soccer players who aspire to succeed in the competitive world of football within a Canadian context through “motivation and goal setting, perseverance and healthy habits and nutrition. We would like to thank York United FC for providing our students with a chance to interact with these inspiring role models and learn from their experiences.
